Marathon TV broadcast for Mother’s Day
Sunday, May 25 was Mother’s Day in the Dominican Republic. Mothers deserve a special respect in this country because many mothers raise their children alone, without a man. It is very common in Latin America. Many men take off if their girlfriend or wife becomes pregnant and then go and look for next victim. The children appreciate it very much that their mothers are committed to giving them a good education.
The mothers of Sosúa were put in the spotlight last Sunday. The delegate of the National Congress, Javier Clark, on Mother’s Day organized a marathon broadcast on Costa Norte Network TV Canal 3, in collaboration with Johnny Matos of Channel 12 and Edgard Tomás Pelegrín of the ‘Voice of the People’. For this broadcast dozens of mothers were invited and handed out wonderful gifts – washing machines, refrigerators, microwave ovens, TVs and other household items. The mothers were very pleased with the gifts.
