Holiday cheer: Dominican Republic lifts booze ban
Santo Domingo.- Interior and Police minister Jose Ramon Fadul on Wednesday announced that the scheduled ban to sell alcoholic beverages will be lifted from December 10 to January 8, on occasion of the holidays.
In a statement, Fadul said the provision was agreed to at meetings in the Ministry with the owners of bars, nightclubs and restaurants across the country, as well as orchestras and other musical groups, which increase their income during the holidays.
He said Executive Order 308-06 limits the sale of alcoholic beverages until 12pm Sunday through Thursday, and to 2am Fridays and Saturdays.
