Golfers from 25 nations compete in Dominican Republic Open at Casa de Campo
La Romana, Dominican Republic.- The flags of 25 countries will be raised at Teeth of the Dog links as of 9am today marking the start of the Pro-Am part of DR Open, the 7th and nest-to-last chapter of the first part of the NEC Series-PGA Tour Latin America’s 2014 calendar.
The par 72 Teeth of the Dog will be the backdrop where 144 golfers from around the world, who fought to be among the 55 who’ll play during the weekend, trying to join Colombians David Venegas and Marcelo Rozo, Mexico’s Armando Favela and Americans Daniel Mazziotta, William Kropp and Ty Capps, who won the previous competitions.
Also competing, in addition to most of those listed, will be Puerto Rican Rafael Campos, Americans Robert Rohanna and Rick Cochran III, Mexicans Rodolfo Cauzabon and Mauricio Azcue and Argentines Tommy Cocha, Daniel Domínguez and Julián Etulian.
Among the countries taking part figure the U.S., Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Uruguay, France, Canada, Spain, Puerto Rico, Colombia Austria, Venezuela, Italy and Chile.
Representing Dominican Republic will be Julio Santos, Willy Pumarol, Cledis Cordova, Juan Carlos Perelló, and the amateurs Goerge Riley, who classified Monday as well as Radames Peña, Francisco Pichardo, Juan Jose Guerra and Hiram Silfa
The resort will open its doors so that all golf fans can enjoy up close and appreciate the moves that the professionals’ style, both foreign and local, gathered for the 7th stop of the PGA Latin America.

Casa de Campo is recognized as the best golf resort in Latin America and with the best golf courses in the region, there’s no better place to determine the champion in the Dominican Republic of the DR Open 2014 as Casa de Campo,” affirmed the resort’s CMO, Peter Bonell.
For Dominican Golf Federation president Juan Cohen and vice president Rafael Canario, who organize the Dominican Republic Golf Open, the event will be an unprecedented because it’s the first time that golf lovers will be able to watch and enjoy the best golfers right on the course.
