Geraldine Chaplin awarded for locally made film ‘Sand Dollars’
Santo Domingo.- Geraldine Chaplin, daughter of the great Charlie Chaplin was in the country filming the controversial movie “Sand Dollars” in which she plays a wealthy European woman who is in love with a poor, Dominican young man.
The veteran actress says she plays one of her most poignant roles of her career, for which she won best actress award on Friday at Chicago’s 50th annual International Film Festival.
This film directed by Laura Amelia Guzmán and Israel Cárdenashas yet to arrive in Dominican cinemas, and its release was announced for Dominican Republic’s Global Film Festivalin November.
