Foreigner who was shot by security guard of Puerto Plata Hotel is slowly recovering
PUERTO PLATA A Spanish citizen who was wounded in the left chest by a private watchman, during a heated argument on October 15, 2014 at the entrance of the hotel Puerto Plata Beach Resort.
The victim, Jose Emilio Rodriguez Rivas, 66, was shot with a shotgun by guachimán Luis Alfonzo Gonzalez Mercado, 61 years, after the incident the wounded victim was admitted urgently to the Bournigal Medical Center, where his life was saved by the group of specialists.
Rodriguez Rivas was attacked by the private Gonzalez Mercado with shotgun brand Maverick, caliber 12 mm, number MV69245U owned company SAS, after the Spanish citizen had asked for an explanation for stopping him to entry to his apartment in the hotel Puerto Plata Beach Resort located on the Malecon.
The eyewitnesses said that the wounded Spanish man was saved had to undergo three operations due to two gunshots. Luis Alfonso González was subjected to the courts where he imposed a coercive measure of three months and 15 days.
While Dr. Rafael Castillo Arévalo Cedeño,the lawyer said that investigations by the authorities of the Public Prosecutor found that the watchman fired his gun against his client in a criminal attitude to the extreme munitions which caused liver, stomach and lungs damage.
From official sources it was learned that the incident happened after the hotel owner of Puerto Plata Beach Resort has implemented a policy to keep out the tenants who reside in apartments but do not pay money for water and electricity. The authorities have not commented on it yet.
