Entrepreneurs of Sosua complain about closure of Pedro Clisante street
From 1 June, 2014 the main street – Pedro Clisante has been closed to traffic in the evenings. That means that the restaurants can put their tables out on the street and the visitors are not bothered by the noise and exhaust fumes of motor taxis. That appeared to be a big improvement for the restaurant and bar owners and for the visitors to the Pedro Clisante. On a Saturday night when something is organized in the street, for example a performance of a music band, then it is sure an improvement. Then the tables and chairs are out and guests can eat, drink and enjoy themselves. There is a friendly atmosphere and the bar and restaurant owners profit from it. But on the other nights, the street is deserted. Now the entrepreneurs want to discuss with the local authorities, when to close the street to traffic. On weekday evenings, they want the street to be open to traffic again, so that visitors can park their cars close to the restaurant or bar, like before. That was the complaint that many regular visitors of the nightlife came up with. Now we have to wait for answers from the municipal administration.
