Elton John’s Million Dollar Piano is flying in
For his concert at the Altos de Chavón amphitheater on Friday February the 28th, Elton John will be flying in his own piano – known as the Million Dollar Piano – according to an article published in the Listin Diario newspaper.
Emil Ysona, president of Grupo Acego responsible for organizing the event with Evenpro, was quoted saying that Elton John has requested a plane to fly the piano to the Dominican Republic.
This incredible flying piano is worth an estimated us$1 million (hence the name) and was custom-made especially for the British singer in 2011 to be used in his live show at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. “The Million Dollar Piano” tour at Caesars Palace is a residential show, which is still running and which replaced his extremely successful “The Red Piano” tour that ran from 2004 to 2009.
According to Emil Ysona this same piano has been travelling the world with Elton John, and is indeed so important to him, that if it is damaged in transit the concert would have to be cancelled. We really hope that won’t happen!
We can’t wait to have Elton John and his Million Dollar Piano on stage at the Altos de Chavón amphitheater – and apparently we’re not the only ones who are excited – over 75% of the tickets have already been sold. Tickets are available from the Casa de Campo villa owners club, as well as on the Elton John website.
