DR to attend World Baseball championship
Santo Domingo.– The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) announced the launching of the “Premier12” world championship, a new men’s National Team baseball event, to be held in November 2015 in Taiwan with the world’s top 12 baseball powerhouses.
According to the WBSC President Riccardo Fraccari, Premier12 will be held every four years and will become baseball’s highest-ranked international competition.
The WBSC said it will announce the 12 qualified national teams in November this year, after the final 2014 World Rankings have been calculated. Currently, the U.S., Japan and Cuba are the top three nations in the world baseball ranking. The Dominican Republic is ranked fifth.
