Dominican Republic approves US$400.M for more better roads
Santo Domingo.- Dominican Republic’s Senate on Wednesday night ratified two loans totaling US$400.0 million, to build and improve several highways.
One of the loans of US$200.0 million will be allocated for the reconstruction of the cross-mountain road from Piedra Blanca (central) to the Cruce de Ocoa on the southern highway.
The other for US$200.0 million will be used to finance the project Pontezuela Ecological Corridor, in northern Santiago province.
Both loans are from Brazil’s State-owned National Economic Development Bank (BNDES), and will managed by the Public Works Ministry.
