Dominican Govt. to rescue children from the capital’s streets in 30 days
Santo Domingo.- Justice minister Francisco Domínguez on Monday announced that the authorities seek to rescue every child under eight from Santo Domingo’s streets within 30 days.
He announced an agreement with the evangelical churches grouped in the CODUE to work jointly on policies to protect the children that require special attention.
The official said the country should be free of women begging with children in their arms on the National District’s major arteries.
Dominguez, CODUE president Fidel Lorenzo Merán and Deputy justice minister for Adolescents Marisol Tobal headed the activity and handed gifts to children rescued from the streets.
