Dominican Government workers yearend bonus tops US$272.0M
Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Government will start disbursing RD$9.9 billion to pay the Christmas bonus known as 13th salary tomorrow Friday, which will surely buoy the entire economy, especially retailers.
National Treasurer Alberto Perdomo recently announced that Government workers will be paid the bonus December 5, starting with pensioners and retirees, followed by the military, the National Police and civil servants.
The bonus payments don’t include municipal employees or some decentralized agencies, for which the total monetary injection to the economy will surpass an estimated RD$12.0 billion (US$272.0 million)
