Deep chill in the U.S. cancels local flights
Santo Domingo.- The contractor which manages Dominican Republic’s airports (Aerodom) on Tuesday said 10 New York and Boston flights were canceled at Las Americas international Airport (AILA), in addition to United Airlines’s 1470 and 173 to Newark, New Jersey.
It said JetBlue had already cancelled flights 109, 609, 209 and 509 from New York and 710 and 310 towards that city; as well as flights 829 and 830 to Boston.
Aerodom reported other operations on schedule so far, although with delays and urges travelers to contact the airlines locally, to check flights status.
Local media report a large number of passengers at AILA looking for alternate flights, which Aerodom says can be seen in real time at www.aerodom.com or through phone numbers (809) 947-2225 and (809) 947-2297.
A winter chill in southern and eastern U.S. has forced many airlines to cancel flights.
