Country’s longest beltway ready ‘by early 2015’
Santo Domingo.- At 16.9 kilometers, Dominican Republic’s longest beltway could be ready in the first months of the new year as construction continues at a brisk pace.
The contractor Consorcio Compreica-Alba Sanchez said construction of the Santo Domingo Beltway is on schedule, and would open for traffic in January.
On Sunday president Danilo Medina, accompanied by Public Works minister Gonzalo Castillo, government officials and the contractor executives toured spans of the roadwork, whose construction began on June 18, 2013.
