Brazilians advance to semifinals after 3-0 win over Dominicans
Milan.- Brazil shut out the Dominican Republic 3-0 to advance to its third consecutive semifinals appearance at the FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Championship in Milan, Italy on Friday.
Although the Dominican women fought hard, they were ultimately outclassed as they slipped to a 25-19, 25-21, 25-17 defeat, with Sheila and captain Fabiana leading the way for Brazil with 13 and 12 points each respectively.
For the Dominican Republic this is the reward for a great run over the last three weeks. The team finished with a 7-4 win-loss record and it immensly improves its previous best of 11th in 1998.
Both Brazil and China has moved on to the semifinals with Brazil taking on the United States while China will battle it out against host nation Italy for a chance of the Gold.
