Bored with your cooking – Get creative with your grill
If you’re bored with your usual routine of cooking dinner, now is the perfect time to try stepping outside and grilling something new! You can always whip up a quick healthy meal to throw on the grill without having to heat up the whole house. Try shaking up your routine with a few new and different ideas.
Surprisingly enough fruit is a great addition to a barbeque and makes a fabulous dessert. Peaches, pineapples and even watermelons are good choices, but get creative and see what you like best. Try threading large pieces of cut fruit onto skewers, brush on a little coconut oil and heat until the fruit has light brown grill marks.
Make crispy chicken
If you’re grilling up some chicken the best way to get the skin really crispy is to season your chicken (drumsticks, wings, thighs and breasts) with a little sea salt and maybe a few spices and hold off on the sauce. Once the meat has cooked throw the cooked chicken into a bowl with your favorite barbecue sauce, then remove and serve. It’s a great way to avoid getting any burnt pieces from the sauce getting too hot.
Grill new kinds of vegetables
Start getting creative and add some new veggies to the grill. Try green onions, jalapenos, fennel, baby potatoes, zucchini, eggplant, peppers, or even broccoli! They’re delicious and give you a new option to try. Lightly brush them with avocado or sesame oil, which are great for high heat, before cooking and sprinkle with a little salt and pepper to serve.
