Bavaro-Miches 72-kilometer road ready by year end
Miches, Dominican Republic.- Public Works minister Gonzalo Castillo on Sunday announced the conclusion of the 72-kilometer Uvero Alto-Miches -Sabana de la Mar road by year end
He said the first stage will be inaugurated in December and the second stage in August next year.
The first stage is from Uvero Alto-Miches, and the second between Miches and Sabana de la Mar for a total 110.8 kilometers, built at a cost of more than US$265 million.
He said of the Uvero Alto-Miches road’s total of 72 kilometers, more than 50 are fully paved and ready for the installation of road signs.
Castillo, accompanied by journalists on a tour of the region, said overall, the road work includes 10 new and 29 rebuilt bridges and a 7-inch thick asphalt layer.
Located just west of Bávaro and Punta Cana, Uvero Alto is also at the crossroads of the tourist Eastern Boulevard, which links Dominican Republic’s biggest resort region.
