Santo Domingo.- Dominican Republic Export and Investment Center (CEI-RD) director Jean Alain Rodríguez on Tuesday revealed that exports remained firm and solid with a 6% growth from January to July.
He said despite the constant challenges, the country’s competitiveness improved, citing as an example the Dominican products’ increasing acceptance in foreign markets. “Currently some 3,150 product lines have been exported to 73 countries, which means that Dominican Republic is doing very well.”
Speaking during the Dominican Exporter Association’s (Adoexpo) monthly luncheon, Rodríguez said investments this year are expected to continue the pace of 2013, when it reached US$2.0 billion.
The official said the country’s geographic location, good business climate, advanced infrastructure, adequate legal framework, incentives and credits are some of the advantages that say “DR exports.”
