Armando Casciati appeals against unlawful expulsion
Several digital newspapers mentioned that Armando Casciati has appealed against his expulsion that took place on 11 October 2014. Mr. Armando Casciati owns three hotels, a nightclub and a bar in Sosúa and a disposable diapers plant in Montecristi. In total, it is an investment of more than 50 million dollars! Armando Casciati, was forced to leave the country on 11 October without any judicial process. Reportedly Armando has now announced that he has appealed against this unlawful expulsion. He was accused of encouraging and facilitating prostitution. The hearing of his case will take place in Santo Domingo on Thursday, December 4th. Many foreign investors are eagerly waiting the outcome of this process. It indicates whether an investor in this country is legally protected, or at the mercy of arbitrariness.
