Another miner finds gold in western Dominican Republic
San Juan de la Maguana, Dominican Republic.- Preliminary studies by Canadian miner Precipitate Gold Corp. in the western part of the country show an area rich in gold near the town, Juan de Herrera, the second find by as many companies.
“The initial programs of sampling and mapping in Juan de Herrera, outlined two areas of mineralization of interest within the limits of the concession, presenting a geochemical anomaly rich in gold,” affirmed the company, whose local name is Corporacion Minera de San Juan.
“The main area, Ginger Ridge, presents a rich gold geochemical anomaly measuring over 1,000 meters by 400 meters, highlighting individual samples of 11.8 grams per ton of gold, and 39.0 grams per ton of silver,” Precipitate says in its first report of a page and a half, quoted by hoy.com.do.
Also found were “continuous channel samples yielding 1.5 grams per ton of gold, and 20 grams / tonne of silver over 13 meters open at both ends.”
The 6,452 hectares granted to the Corporación Minera San Juan are located in Juan de Herrera, Maguana, Maguana Abajo, Maguana, Maguana Abajo, Maguana en Medio, Hato Nuevo, Los Cercadillos, and El Coco, located north of the city.
Precipitate becomes the Canadian company looking for gold, copper and other metals in the area, after GoldQuest began exploration more than eight years, abd has already reported localizing 3.7 million ounces of gold and copper.
