AMET Agent pulls gun and threatens a journalist in Sosua
PUERTO PLATA Renowned photographer and journalist Felix Corona, reported that yesterday afternoon he was threatened with death by an officer of the Metropolitan Transit Authority (AMET) while driving from west to east on Highway Sosúa-Puerto Plata just at the entrance to the sector Charamicos.
Corona narrated that the agent was credited on site from about 45 days ago and in an unseemly manner after the traffic lights ordered him to stop the vehicle abruptly, asked for documents and without a word he pulled his gun and pointed it at Felix’s head causing tremendous shock to his son who accompanied the journalist.
Similarly, Felix Corona reported that for days he noticed a very strange action by the officers of the Metropolitan Transport Authority (AMET) in Sosua for verifying documents of citizens in a disrespectful manner.
Condemned the action of the AMET agent as violent, Corona mentioned that they did the same to his wife Mercedes Coste, who is the administrator and Office Manager at Sea Horse Ranch.
Completely disgusted, Felix Corona wonders if there is any special order against his family to know how to defend himself against these abusers, because no agent has authority to point a gun if there is any failure in the public and suggests that these agents should not be armed as it is not the first time they commit crimes and abuse power against defenseless people.
