Aliens will be regulated despite talks

Santo Domingo.- Dominican Republic’s Government delegates named for the dialogue with Haiti warned Thursday that the plan to regulate foreigners will be enacted regardless of the talks.

Presidency chief of staff Gustavo Montalvo heads the Commission that includes the ministers of Interior and Police José Ramón Fadul, of Commerce, José del Castillo; Deputy Foreign minister José Manuel Trullols, and Presidency legal adviser Cesar Pina.

Montalvo said the meeting to take place in Ouanaminthe, (northeast Haiti) restarts the dialogue announced in Venezuela on December 16 between president Danilo Medina and Haiti counterpart Michel Martelly.

The meeting is slated for Tuesday, January 7, close to Dajabon province (northwest).

The official said the Government is going to the talks with “  ”determination and good faith.”

Dominican Republic and Haiti agreed to a dialogue with Venezuela’s mediation after friction as the result of the Constitutional Court which defines nationality.

Pina reiterated that the dialogue won’t halt the plan to regularize foreigners.
