Air France and GOL jetting into La Romana
From this Sunday December 7th, the La Romana International Airport will start receiving flights from Air France and GOL Airlines for the first time!
As the MSC Música, the first MSC cruise ship sails into the La Romana International port this Sunday December 7th, the first flights from both GOL and Air France airlines will be jetting into La Romana, bringing tourists from France and Brazil for their cruise around the Caribbean.
GOL airlines (with headquarters in São Paulo, Brazil) and Air France (with headquarters in Tremblay, France) have never operated in the La Romana terminal before, and as a result is of great significance to the La Romana International Airport – bringing in an additional 587 passengers per week to the La Romana International Airport.
For this operation, Air France will be using a B747-400 aircraft from Paris, carrying some 432 passengers. While GOL airlines will use a B737-800 that has a capacity for 155 passengers, which will operate from São Paulo, according to Andres Fernández, Commercial Director of La Romana Airport.
Andres Fernández also told Casa de Campo Living that “The operation of GOL has a special nuance, as not all seats are hired by the MSC Cruise line but it also shares some with CVC, the largest tour operator in Brazil, meaning that the Brazilian market will have the opportunity to get to know the excellent hotel offerings and complementary services the destination of La Romana – Bayahibe has to offer”
Maridiana Fly has been a regular at the La Romana International Airport for years, and now, they will support the operation of the MSC Música Cruise, in order to increase its operations and strengthen their commercial bond with the airport, as much as the La Romana – Bayahibe destination.
This is great news for tourism in the La Romana – Bayahibe area!
However, please note that these flights; Paris – La Romana with Air France and São Paulo – La Romana with GOL, are NOT for sale to the general public. In the case of the Air France flight, seats are exclusively for passengers cruising with MSC, and with the case of GOL, seats are for the MSC cruise and for Brazilians travelling to La Romana – Bayahibe with the Brazilian Tour Operator CVC. If this changes and seats become available for the general public we will let you know.
