A treatment plant for sewage into Ozama River
SANTO DOMINGO. President Danilo Medina submitted to the Senate the contract for the execution of the turn-key project for the construction, supply and installation of the sewage treatment plant for the Ozama River.
The overall amount of the contract execution adds up to €55.7 million.
The contract was signed between the firm of Incatema Consulting S.R.L. and the Santo Domingo Water and Sewer Corporation ICAASD) in October 2013,.
The project has as its objective the recovery of the Haina, Isabela and Ozama rivers, and is directed at four main areas: heath protection of the people; protection of the environment; the reuse and efficient handling of the water, and the supply of a quality service for the users.
Incatema Consulting is a Spanish engineering and consulting company that was founded in 1994 when several companies and professionals came together.
The company is specialized in sectors such as agriculture and rural development, the agro-food industry, markets and food platforms, fishing and water.
The company has taken part in several projects in the Dominican Republic such as the construction of the wholesaler’s and retailer’s market and in the design of a plan for the tourist development of La Romana.
This contract and its amendments will be heard in the Senate after 27 February, the date when the Second Session of the legislature begins.
