“Festival Presidente,” One of the Top Music Festivals in the Caribbean, Scheduled for October 2014
This top regional music festival, and certainly the Dominican Republic’s most important, is scheduled for October.
The festival will be held in Santo Domingo’s Olympic Stadium, situated in the very heart of the capital city. From October 3-5 some 50,000 spectators will enjoy the best Latin/Caribbean music in the world.
Grammy-award winner Dominican singer-composer Juan Luis Guerra, the Colombian pop singer Juanes, Puerto Rican “salsa” idol Gilberto Santa Rosa, rap artista Don Omar, the rock group Camila, popular singer Luis Enrique and Cuban-American singer Pitbul all participated in the last Festival.
Festival organizers have not announced who this year’s performers will be.
The “Presidente Festival” is organized by country’s most important brewery, the “Cerveceria Nacional Dominicana, and its goal is to bring together the best musicians, singers, performers from Latin America and Spain.
This time around Festival organizers will encourage international tourists staying in the country’s eastern region to come in to Santo Domingo to enjoy the music generated during the three-day Festival.
A brand new highway linking the eastern region with the capital city of Santo Domingo makes traveling much easier.
