Ziplines: flying like a bird through the woods

Visitors who are looking for an extra rush of adrenaline during their vacation in the Dominican Republic can try ziplining.
This particular sport offers the visitor the possibility of flying through tree tops, like a bird, enjoying to the maximum the beautiful scenery down below.
The ride begins on a platform situated on top of a solid tree. Once securely fastened by experts, the ride will take the visitor through the tree tops to another tree-top platform on the other side of the woods.
Ziplining offers the visitor the opportunity of “flying” through the surrounding landscape like a bird. It is the perfect opportunity to view the world, literally, through the treetops.
Ziplining consists of gliding through the top of trees, with the help of steel wires that will take the visitor from one tree-top platform to another. The height and distance can vary, depending on the level of experience of the zipliner.
Most tourism resorts in the Dominican Republic provide information on ziplining activities in their region.
It can provide a fun outing for the entire family, since kids can also participate.

Located just 30 minutes from Santo Domingo’s downtown area, Zipline Park will provide the visitor with nine stations with varying heights that range from 50 to 100.

Casa Bonita’s Canopy Tour lets you glide through the trees and enjoy the breathtaking views. Visitors can enjoy the surrounding tropical forest and nearby rivers by ziplining through 10 strategically located platforms (www.casabonitadr.com).
This 12-platform park features, in the first platform, a pirate ship. This particular platform is situated one thousand feet from the second platform, at a height of 400 feet, from where visitors will marvel at the surrounding tropical forest that extends all the way to the nearby hills (email@example.com).
Zip Lines Adventures “El Limon”
An adventure where zipliners will be able to marvel at the natural beauty of Samana Bay, included among the most beautiful bays in the world. This particular park offers 20 platforms and cables, with challenging distances that range from 85 to 450 meters (www.runnersadventures.com).
La Romana – Bayahibe

Cumayasa Sky Adventure

Canopy Adventure Zip Line

Bavaro Adventure Park
This park gives the visitor the option of choosing between two types of ziplining, depending on the individual’s physical capacity and experience.
The Skywalker is for the more conservative zipliner, and includes hanging bridges and the Skywalker Pro, with speeds that can reach 30mph. Bavaro Runners Zip Line
One of the Caribbean’s longest zip lines, and the largest in the Dominican Republic, this facility features 16 platforms with wires that extend two miles through nearby hills.

Farallon Zip Line Eco -Tour
The tour includes eight ziplines that range from 20 to 65 meters in altitude. The trails allow you to connect with the natural world of the nearby cliffs (www.scapepark.com).
