Wage hike pact: Review in 2014 on Dominican economy’s performance
Santo Domingo.- National Wage Committee president Gloria Henriquez on Wednesday said the 14% wage increase agreement reached between labor and management will be retroactive to June 1, and that both parties stated their willingness to review it within a year, according to the economy’s performance.
The agreement calls for companies with capital of more than RD$4.0 million to pay a minimum salary of RD$11,298, whereas those from RD$2.0 to RD$3,999 million will pay a wage of RD$7,765 monthly.
For small companies which don’t exceed RD$2.0 million, their new minimum wage would be 6,880 pesos.
The agreement also stipulates that farm workers will be paid RD$234.00 per day while the salary for private security personnel will be RD$9,526 monthly.
