Venezuela vows to continue oil pact with Dominican Republic
Santo Domingo. -Venezuela’s ambassador affirmed Thursday that if Nicolas Maduro wins his country’s April 14 election, the Petrocaribe oil agreement with Dominican Republic will continue.
After meeting with president Danilo Medina in the National Palace, Alberto Castellar Padilla said there’s zero possibility that Maduro won’t win, “because Hugo Chavez’s project is fully in force in Venezuela.”
“All these integration projects which President Chavez forged, including Petrocaribe, will be continued under the government of comrade President Maduro,” the diplomat said.
He added that he spoke with Medina on current and other plans pending between the two countries, but declined to provide details.
Castellar affirmed however that Venezuela-Dominican Republic bilateral ties strengthen even further.
