US$1.0B, 10-year bond is Dominican Republic’s biggest issue
Santo Domingo.- The Presidency on Friday announced it submitted a bill for a US$1.0 billion, 10-year bond to Congress, the biggest sovereign issue in the country’s history.
The Executive also submitted legislation via the Senate which authorizes the Finance Ministry to acquire RD$45.0 billion (US$1.1B) of debt in 2013, by auctioning securities as well as through bank credit in the local market,.
Once passed by Congress, the Finance Ministry will determine the issue date, according to a statement handed out to reporters in the National Palace.
