The success of the 10km marathon held last Sunday in Puerto Plata
PUERTO PLATA. – The national sports field has highlighted the huge success of the ten-kilometer marathon conducted over the weekend in Puerto Plata, where more than 600 runners from all over the country and the countries of the region participated. In that event, the runners went past 7:00 am on Manolo Tavarez Justo Avenue, then took the boardwalk and into the final stretch to the central park, located in the city center, where they were received by the public of the Bride of the Atlantic.
The male winners of the second edition of Puerto Plata 10K race, were athletes Rosa Toribio, José Rubiera and Jesus Ramirez who won the first three places in the overall category, with times 32:29, 32:36 and 32:40 respectively. Amongst women, the winners were Andreina de la Rosa, with a time of 36:47, Soranyi Rodriguez, who crossed the finish line at 37:45 and third place went to Yaisa Sanchez who made the journey with time 38: 22. All winners received cash prizes, sponsored by Gold’s Gym and baskets, in a ceremony headed by executives WisePlanners, the organizer of the event.
Speaking at the award ceremony, WisePlanners executives reported that the race of Puerto Plata is a certified route and thanked all Dominicans and foreign runners who participated in the second consecutive year, which seeks to encourage healthy lifestyles.
