Tackling pollution and bugs in La Piedra, Sosua
Lately residents of the neighborhood La Piedra (a part of Sosúa) complain about the increasing pollution and bugs. Vermin like mosquitoes that cause dengue and rats which can cause other diseases. The mayor has decided to act tough against these inconveniences and the municipality sent a team to the neighborhood. Under the direction of the Superintendent of the fire department, Oscar Luis Salazar Gómez (Lupi) a team with insecticide sprayed the entire neighborhood.
There have also been removed fifteen truckloads of waste by members of the fire brigade and local residents. The mayor decided to this clean-up because there were complaints of La Piedra residents who were hospitalized for dengue fever in the hospital. All infected are recovering well.
