State-owned bank to collect tolls during 30 years
Santo Domingo.- The Chamber of Deputies yesterday approved a trust for the construction, maintenance and expansion of the country’s main roads, through a 30-year, toll collection contract with the State-owned Reservas bank.
The bill, which passed with 111 votes for and 14 against, will now go to the Senate.
Chamber of Deputies president Abel Martinez said the legislation will make the collection of the money from the tolls more transparent.
