Small business don’t need tax printers
The Department of Taxes (DGII) has confirmed that businesses with sales under RD$7.8 million a year, or that make purchases below the sum of RD$30 million do not have to install the tax printers that are linked to the DGII system. The printers are mandatory starting next year for other businesses, and are aimed at reducing tax evasion. DGII director Guarocuya Felix said that all others that should have and have not yet done so are liable for hefty fines and penalties for non-fulfillment.
