Russia and DR to cooperate on energy
Santo Domingo.– Gazprom International (GI), a branch of the Russian gas company Gazprom, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Dominican Republic in order to cooperate in the field of energy, according to a statement released today by Russian news agencies.
The document signed between GI and the State-owned Electric Utility (CDEEE) includes the completion of various projects of construction and operation of energy infrastructure in the country.
In February last year the Dominican Republic proposed the Russian gas monopoly to participate in coast prospections. From there, Russian experts visited the power plants in the Dominican capital, Puerto Plata and Punta Cana.
