Poll shows Internet use by 36% of population
Just published results of the latest poll (Enhogar) carried out by the National Statistics Office show that 36% of the Dominican population over the age of 12 used the Internet in 2011. This is up from 20% in 2005. The survey found that 53% of Dominicans use the Internet at Internet Centers. 70% uses the Internet for educational purposes. 32% of all users are connected at home, 22% are connected in the office, 17% at their schools, 14% via their smart phones, and 9% in free centers, and 8% use wifi, as reported in Listin Diario.
