Official says agencies given RD$9.0B to quick-fix the economy
Santo Domingo.- The Presidency’s Administrative minister on Thursday said the economy will get a jumpstart as never before, as the result of all the resources the government is willing to allocate for works and the Central Bank’s release of other sizeable amounts for loans.
José Ramón Peralta said that the nine billion pesos to be used for the construction of works, released 20 billion that the central bank and the resources deposited in the immediate result of the new agreement with Barrick Gold, and a possible wage increase which is expected to make the private sector, given the unprecedented boost to Dominican Republic’s economy.
Peralta, who said he’s upbeat on the economic boost expected from the injected funds, revealed that the various agencies have already received RD$9.0 billion to be spent immediately on myriad projects. “What needs to be done now is to start carrying out the works announced, the agencies already have the funds in their accounts.”
