New law boosts non-conventional energy autos
Santo Domingo.- President Danilo Medina on Wednesday enacted laws which create the Energy and Mines Ministry, and the Non-Conventional Energy Vehicle Import Incentive Act, among other legislation.
The incentive to import vehicles powered by non-conventional energy seeks to promote the use of automobiles that don’t contaminate the environment, reducing the levels of pollution caused by emissions from engines which run on fossil fuels.
The law provides facilities and benefits to importers of motor vehicles that run on electricity, hydro-electricity, natural gas, hydrogen and compressed air.
