New flight between Chicago and Punta Cana
Punta Cana, DR.– Southwest Airlines Co. started selling new nonstop service between Chicago and Punta Cana, in the eastern coast of the Dominican Republic. The company is also offering flights between Chicago and Montego Bay, Jamaica. The flights will begin this spring, and will be operated by Southwest’s wholly owned subsidiary AirTran Airways. “These new international markets make sense for our Chicagoland Customers as we approach connecting the Southwest and AirTran route networks in the coming months,” said Bob Jordan, Southwest Airlines’ Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer and AirTran Airways President. AirTran Airways nonstop flights between Chicago (Midway) and Punta Cana will begin Sunday, May 19.
