Ministry of Tourism and Tourism-Oriented Dominican Companies Will Participate in International Fairs

The Ministry of Tourism will begin 2014 by actively participating in international tourism fairs in the United States, Europe and Latin America.  During the months of January and February the Ministry is scheduled to participate in nine international tourism fairs.

Fairs Held in January:

Vakantie Beurs , from January 14-15 in Brussels. This important tourism fair brings together international travel agencies, theater groups and cultural associations from around the world.

FITUR, from January 22-26, in Madrid, Spain. This particular fair is considered to be one of the most important fairs for the promotion of international tourism.  It is the idea setting for networking and establishing contacts with tourism-oriented companies from all over the world.

SIT Rennes, from January 24-26. The fair, titled “Salon International du Tourisme,” is held in the French city of Rennes, and attracts representatives from the world’s tourism industry, such as travel agencies, camping companies, hotel chains, theme park companies, among others.

February:

Salon Vacances, from February 6-10, Brussels. This annual fair is organized by the Brussels Fairs and Exhibitions organization.

The Boston Globe Travel Show, from February 7-9.  This particular event involves 250 exhibitors and suppliers, representing all segments of the world’s travel industry.  Some 20,000 visitors attend the fair, especially those looking for exotic and/or domestic destinations.

BIT Milano, from February 13-15. The fair is open to the general public, as well as to representatives from the world’s travel industry.

HOLIDAY WORLD, from February 20-23, in Prague.  This fair is the most important of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe.

ANATO, Bogota, Colombia, from February 26-28. The event brings together representatives from the travel industry from the United States, France, Spain, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Argentina, Panama, Uruguay, Aruba and Cuba.

The New York Times Travel Show, from February 28-March 2. This particular fair includes special lectures on some of the world’s most important destinations.
