Medina vows to conclude major industrial park in one week
Santo Domingo.- President Danilo Medina on Wednesday again visited the Santo Domingo West Industrial District (DISDO) located in the subdivision Manoguayabo, where he told area industrialists to “charge your batteries because we will support you.”
With his visit Medina seeks to spur the industrial complex’s completion in record time and joint commissioning, pledging the project’s re-launch in one week.
In the meeting the President heard the requests and concerns of the owners of the complex, expected to provide around 7,000 direct and indirect jobs, with around 10 manufacturing companies which will benefit some 1,800 small and medium industries in the area of Haina.
“We’re left speechless because you’ve done more than we expected,” Victor Castro, one of the owners, told Medina.
