Medina signs US$14.6B budget into law
Santo Domingo.- After having been passed by both Chambers of Congress last week, president Danilo Medina on Saturday signed the 2014 State Budget of RD$613.1 billion (US$14.6 billion) into law, listin.com.do reports, quoting an official source.
Medina’s signature comes in the heels of a challenged filed by 42 judges before the Superior Administrative Court had, which sought to prevent the enactment of the budget.
The judges demand a higher allocation of funds for the judiciary in next year’s budget.
