Medina cuts ribbons on 224 housing units in north-central provinces
Villa Tapia, Dominican Republic. – President Danilo Medina on Thursday cut the ribbons for three housing projects of 224 units at Duarte, Maria Trinidad Sanchez and Hermanas Mirabal provinces (north-central), built at a cost of around RD$240.0 million.
National Housing Institute (INVI) director Alma Fernandez said the housing units will be given to poor families who previously lived in risk areas.
As part of his visit, Medina also broke ground for the construction of 800 homes in 11 towns in Elías Piña, Independencia, San Juan de la Maguana, Dajabón, Valverde and San Cristobal provinces.
