Industries shun truck traffic ban on the capital’s coast
Santo Domingo.- Dominican Republic’s Industries Association (AIRD) on Thursday stated its concern with the ban on heavy vehicle traffic along the capital’s seaside boulevard, El Malecon.
In a statement AIRD said the ordinance was approved “without having completed all stages of the preparatory process to implement the measure, which were agreed with the team of the National District Freight Transit Regulatory Plan.
AIRD vice president Circe Almanzar urged the local authorities to suspend the ordinance, until the designation of the officials and technicians who’ll weigh the industry’s observations.
