Get your vehicle tax sticker (Marbete) now

Virginia Gomez, head of the Department of Motor Vehicle at the Taxation office (DGII) and the Director of the Metropolitan Transport Authority (AMET), General Geronimo Brown Perez, are urging vehicle owners who have not done so to move fast to renew vehicle circulation stickers. Online sales of the sticker will cease on 18 December.

The renewal period ends at midday on 31 December. She said that so far only 40% of vehicle owners have done so. Anyone renewing after the date needs to pay a fine of RD$600 and can only do so at the DGII offices.

The AMET director, General Juan Brown Perez, said that once the renewal period is up, his agents will seize vehicles that are circulating without the new stickers and they will receive a RD$1,600 fine.
