Four beaches in Puerto Plata are Blue Flag certified for excellent environmental conditions
PUERTO PLATA. – Four beaches of Puerto Plata were certified by the Blue Flag program among 18 across the Dominican Republic after an evaluation which determined that these beaches meet stringent environmental requirements .
The beaches of Puerto Plata favored with the Blue Flag certificate are: Beach Be Live Marien Costa Dorada , Iberostar Costa Dorada Beach , Golden Beach Golden Beach I and III , according to a list published on the website of the Institute of Environmental Law of the Republic Dominican ( www.idard.org.do ) .
Also, according to www.traveltradecaribbean.com portal , the Dominican beaches certified by the Blue Flag program , have such distinction and awarded by the Foundation for Environmental Education ( FEE) , an international NGO of European origin, to through the Environmental law Institute of the Dominican Republic .
The International Jury of the Blue Flag program performs a rigorous evaluation process of each beach , figuring that meets stringent environmental requirements .
The Blue Flag beach ensures that is clean, safe and is constantly monitored the water quality and services , so that such certification reaffirms the commitment of the operator responsible environmental management of coastal and marine areas and encourages it to continue with the implementation of good environmental practices and to promote environmental education of beach users .
Finally he said that ” the maintenance of Blue Flag certification depend on the continued compliance of all program criteria during the period of certification.”
