Drinking without restrictions starts tomorrow (Tue, Dec.10)
SANTO DOMINGO. Starting tomorrow, 10 December, the Minister of the Interior and Police will raise the restrictions regulating drinking hours for alcoholic beverages during the Christmas holidays, until 8 January 2014.
This means that starting tomorrow the Christmas parties and the centers of night life can go on without having the restrictions of the sales hours of bars, restaurants and discos as established in Decree 208-07 which prohibits the sale of alcohol from 12 midnight from Sunday to Thursday and from 2:00 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
As has become a tradition, after the publication of the decree, the Minister of the Interior and Police, Jose Ramon Fadul, explains that the measure was agreed to in order to help this type of business have an improved economic performance during the holidays and also in order to allow the national artistic sector to be able to offer their services for a longer time.
The Minister of the Interior indicated in addition, that he will not allow the entry of any firearms or minors into these entertainment centers.
He called upon the owners of these businesses to keep the order and watch for the rules to be kept.
