Dominican tourism reps upbeat at France Top Resa fair
Paris.- Tourism Minister Francisco Javier García and his delegation at France’s most important tourism fair Top Resa 2013 say there’s great expectation ahead of the start of the 35th annual activity which begins Tuesday, with more than 1,200 exhibitors, 294 stands and brands and some 200 journalists attending.
Top Resa brings together representatives of the Dominican private sector, this year including Luis E. Rodríguez Amiama, president of the hoteliers and tourism business leaders grouped in Asonahores, , as well as Tourist Press Association president Adompretur Osvaldo Soriano, airline executives, tour operators and cruise ship companies.
For French tourists Dominican Republic is an important destination, especially for extended holidays, with 259,991 visitors last year and 171,094 to August, according to preliminary figures from the France Tourism Office.
