Dominican Republic eyes 10,000 new classrooms by yearend
Santo Domingo.- President Danilo Medina on Wednesday ordered the heads of four agencies to step up construction of the 10,000 classrooms he promised for this year.
Medina ordered them to create a “synchronization table” during a meeting with the top officials of Public Works, and Education, the Comptroller General and national director of the Land Titling Commission.
Public Works minister Gonzalo Castillo said the president ordered the table to be in permanent session. “The President has been emphatic to meet this goal, and in that sense we are all synchronized and the agencies have adopted a methodology that will allow, as of this afternoon, that all work can be expedited and fulfill that promise by yearend, which is the President’s promise.”
