Dominican Republic and Haiti to ‘deal with’ problems

Caracas.-  Venezuela president Nicolas Maduro announced Tuesday that Dominican Republic and Haiti agreed to form a high-level commission to deal with and seek a solution to several problems which both Governments have been “dealing with” in the past few months.

In a speech during a ceremony to honor liberator Simon Bolivar in Venezuela’s National Pantheon attended by the 20 leaders of the ALBA-TCP-Petrocaribe pact countries, Maduro said five members from each country will form the commission

“I therefore announced the formation of this high-level Commission agreed by presidents Danilo Medina and Michel Martelly, to address various issues on the bilateral agenda, and seek a just, fair and balanced solution,” he said.

The Venezuela leader said presidents Medina and Martelly agreed to invite his country to the dialogue, which will also include the UN, the European Union and Caricom.

Maduro spoke to inaugurate the Petrocaribe Summit held in Caracas yesterday.
