Dominican organic food production continues to grow
Santo Domingo.– The Dominican Republic’s organic food production has grown continually over the last few years, a fact that makes the country the world leader in bringing such foods to market, official sources pointed out.
According to Agriculture minister Luis Ramon Rodriguez, the Dominican Republic is the main exporter of organic bananas to international markets, especially to the European Union and the United States.
The country is also the world export leader for cocoa and coffee and 11 other foods, the minister highlighted. “Organic agricultural production contributes significantly to a healthy food supply and a healthy population,” Rodriguez said.
