Dominican man robs bank during terror in Boston

New York.- Amid the curfew imposed during the hunt for the two Boston terrorist bombing suspects , a Dominican man defied authorities and threatened to detonate a bomb he didn’t have to rob a bank branch on Pickering Wharf St. Salem last Friday.

Albin Antonio Tejeda confessed he threatened a teller with a note that said “I’m strapped to a bomb” to demand money. and was handed US$11,000.

The prosecutor said Tejeda terrorized the banks’ employees, who thought he was another terrorist associated with the Tsarnaev brothers, who set off two bombs at the Boston Marathon.

“While the law’s arms stretched to capture terrorists, this man decides to rob a bank,” police Lt. Conrad Prosniewski told the judge, who set bail for Tejeda at US$100,000. “We couldn’t even begin to understand the gripping fear the bank’s employees must have felt.”

Tejeda, 23, and lives in the neighborhood of Everett and was caught while hailing a taxi after the heist.
